Fly Fishing Terms & Conditions and Liability Waiver

(Guided River Trips, Stillwater Sessions & Corporate Events)

1. General Terms (Applies to All Events)

1.1 Booking and Acceptance

By booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and confirm that all information provided is accurate.

1.2 Standard of Service

We will provide services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1.3 Assumption of Risk

Fly fishing involves inherent risks (e.g., slips, water hazards, weather exposure, and equipment use). By participating, you accept these risks except where caused by our negligence.

1.4 Participant Responsibilities

All participants must:

Follow guide instructions at all times

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear

Disclose medical conditions or limitations

Not participate under the influence of alcohol or drugs

2. Guided River Trips (Additional Terms)

River environments present dynamic and natural hazards. By participating, you acknowledge:

2.1 River-Specific Risks

Slippery banks, uneven terrain, and unstable footing

Moving or unpredictable water currents

Sudden changes in water levels or conditions

Remote access areas with limited immediate assistance

2.2 Safety Instructions

You must remain within designated areas and follow guide directions when wading or moving near water.

Wading may only occur when advised and under supervision (where applicable).

2.3 Weather and River Conditions

River conditions (e.g., flow, clarity, and safety levels) may require last-minute changes.

We reserve the right to modify or cancel the trip if conditions are unsafe.

2.4 Experience Level

Participants should ensure they have the appropriate fitness and confidence level.

Certain river trips may require basic mobility and balance.

3. Stillwater Sessions (Additional Terms)

Stillwater environments are generally more controlled but still involve specific considerations:

3.1 Stillwater-Specific Risks

Variable depths and submerged hazards

Bank-side vegetation, mud, or uneven ground

Interaction with other anglers or water users

3.2 Access and Facilities

Some Stillwater venues may have limited facilities or uneven access paths.

Participants are responsible for navigating access areas safely.

3.3 Shared Environment

Stillwater fisheries may be open or shared spaces.

You must respect other anglers, follow venue rules, and maintain safe distances when casting.

3.4 Casting Safety

Extra caution must be taken to avoid injury to others due to casting lines and hooks.

You are responsible for maintaining awareness of surroundings at all times.

4. Corporate Events (Additional Terms)

Corporate bookings often involve group coordination and third-party participants:

4.1 Group Responsibility

The booking organiser is responsible for communicating these Terms to all participants.

The organiser must ensure attendees meet any minimum requirements (fitness, attire, conduct).

4.2 Conduct and Professional Standards

We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate. No refund will be issued in such cases.

4.3 Alcohol and Conduct

  • Alcohol consumption must be moderate and must not impair safety or judgement.

We may refuse participation to any individual deemed unfit due to intoxication.

4.4 Scheduling and Agenda

Corporate events may follow a structured itinerary. Timings and activities may be adjusted due to weather, safety, or group dynamics.

4.5 Client-Provided Attendees

The organiser confirms that all attendees are suitable to participate and have been informed of inherent risks.

5. Liability (All Event Types)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:

Death or personal injury caused by negligence

Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

Any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law

Subject to this:

We are not liable for losses arising from participant negligence, failure to follow instructions, or misuse of equipment

We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses

We are not liable for events outside our reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, environmental conditions, third-party venue restrictions)

6. Equipment

Equipment provided must be used responsibly and returned in good condition.

Participants may be liable for damage caused by misuse or negligence.

7. Medical Fitness

Participants confirm they are physically fit to participate. Any relevant medical conditions must be disclosed prior to participation.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

14+ days prior: Full refund (minus processing fees, if
applicable)

7–13 days prior: 50% refund

Less than 7 days: No refund

We may cancel or reschedule due to weather, safety, or operational reasons. In such cases, a full refund or reschedule will be offered.

9. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

10. Photography and Media

We may capture media for promotional purposes.


Participants who do not wish to appear must notify us in advance.

11. Data Protection

Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and used only for booking and service delivery.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with disputes subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.

13. Acknowledgement and Acceptance

By booking and/or participating, you confirm that:

You understand the risks associated with the specific type of fly fishing activity (river, Stillwater, salt water or corporate event)

You accept personal responsibility for your participation

You agree to these Terms & Conditions and liability waiver within the limits of UK law
